Carnival and Eva

After the windy day on board our neighbor boat, Odara, who has a daughter on board, invited us to come to the IGY yacht club pool bar to have lunch and let the kids swim in the pool. Yes, it’s still super windy but we felt better about leaving Two Fish as she held well for a full day. It just so happened they the yacht club was also throwing a lagoon party! Carnival!

On Tuesday we had Two Fish hauled out for some TLC. She’s getting new paint and shaft seals – yay! She’ll get new bottom zincs, too, among other things. We moved into an Airbnb for several days. It feels weird to be off Two Fish, but we are also a bit relieved to have her out of the water as the winds are supposed to be even higher on Wednesday. We can rest easy knowing that she will stay put where we left her!

Wednesday left us without a car for the morning (the seatbelts weren’t working in the back seat – I’m Captain safety-pants and requested that be rectified.). We then went shopping for Two Fish needs and ran into the crew of Rehua, another Antares catamaran! Small world. Then a quick ride over to the French side of the island for some groceries, bread, and of course, ice cream. The grocery we went to in Marigot didn’t have many of our items, so we stopped at the Carrefour shop on the Dutch side on the way back – our eyes got so big we went back to the car to get our grocery bags. They had everything! We’ll be back for sure.

The smells were delicious! But we had ice cream.

On Thursday one of our older daughters came to visit. Eva! So amazing to see her! We went all the way around the island and hit up some cool experiences with her. Parrotville, Mullet Bay beach, Buccaneers and Kim Sha beach, Chez Fernand Bolangerie, Thai food… a great time was had and we were so sad when she had to fly back to the USA.

It’s her airplane!
