So this week, our two big something’s are that our anchor light isn’t functioning properly (Gah electrical gremlins!!) and that unbeknownst to us, our batteries have reached end of life. We had thought we might be going to the Bahamas on the weather window on Monday, but now we will stay in Palm Beach to sort out the batteries. No sense in going to the Bahamas with no batteries. It’s a bummer – especially given the holiday week as many shops are closed – but it’s also good to know now instead of discovering this in the Bahamas. We are running the generator for hours every day to make sure that our fridge and freezers stay cold, and that we have the power to keep water going, charge our phones, etc. A plus of running the generator is that we can run the dehumidifier (it consumes too much power to run otherwise) and do some laundry!

We tested our watermaker to ensure it’s still working as it hasn’t been used since the summer. We routinely run a fresh water flush to keep the system happy. And it has rewarded us! We have made water!
