Dreaming of a hot tub

There was ice on the dock this morning. Brr. We are bundling up in all our clothes, and are thankful that the sun is shining. But it is really really cold!

Wren and I went with friends to go see Moana 2 in Williamsburg. You guys, I have never seen a movie theater this fancy! They have a full bar and food, and bring you your order in the theater. The seats reclined and were heated! Heated! Wow.

On a bittersweet note, our kitty Mini went to go live with another one of our daughters. There were so many tears shed – Mini is the bestest cat ever. Prove me wrong. We are happy to know that she is safe on land with plenty of love and snuggles and games of fetch with all the girls in the apartment!

As the list of broken things on a boat never end, we chose to get our cockpit cushions reupholstered. The threads were old and sun rotted, and the vinyl was finely cracked, and after one too many bounce they came apart. Our newly covered cushions are gorgeous.

Can you believe that our engine part got installed?!? Neither can we! We are good to go! Woohoo! The engines have both passed their dock testing and the mechanic gave us the green light to go, which is good, because our weather window to go south starts on Friday (tomorrow). This time of year they are short and not terribly frequent. Horray for a green light!

We are using Chris Parker weather and routing service for our passage around Cape Hatteras to Beaufort. He says the weather window is tomorrow and it’s time to scoot, as the next window is possibly 6 days or more in the future. So we’re gonna go for it! Woohoo!
