Outland Hatch covers are on! Woohoo! Impeccable packaging on their end, too. We also templated for salon carpet. Templating was an exercise in frustration, especially when you have a cat ‘helping’ by pulling the tape holding bits off, but it’s done. The salon surround has been completed and installed. While I was at the sewing machine, our aft canvas shade cover was ripped in multiple places during the storm in Tortola when we were doing survey. I patched it up best I could and reinstalled it. It’s not perfect, but the extra few feet of shade really makes the outdoor space more livable and desirable to be out in. And we finally finished installing the pet netting. Two Fish is looking great!
This has been our last week before going back to the homeschool routine. We’ve been visiting the pool almost daily, soaking up the time with other kids as much as we can for Wren. Wren has done daily fishing and mid-week we went to a water park to soak up the last bits of summer. Thanks to Elisa for the tickets! Summer also includes visits to a local ice cream parlor – Short Lane – which is seriously so incredibly good. If you’re ever in Gloucester Point, try to visit. If you’re ever in Abingdon, VA, try The Ice Cream Stop. We love some ice cream!
This week Kathleen also got the chance to read Chris’ journal entries from the Atlantic voyage – ahhhh the foreshadowing of wishing for a slower entry path into sailing 🤣 Nothing like back surgery to slow things down a bit – ha!
